ToolsAPI – The Week in Review

Week 44 | October 26 – November 1, 2026
Tornevall Networks

This week’s development highlights across ToolsAPI, from everyday tools and family features to clearer interfaces and improved reliability.

A Busy Week Across the Toolbox

ToolsAPI continued to evolve throughout week 44. The completed development work covered a wide range of services, with substantial attention given to Tools Score, the recipe workspace, job searching, DNS management, transcription, and connected services.

Many of the changes were small on their own: a clearer button, a more useful error message, or a form that behaves more predictably. Together, they represent steady progress toward a toolbox that is easier to use and maintain.

Tools Score: Activities, Rewards, and Better Communication

Tools Score received some of the week’s most extensive improvements.

A new board-style workspace organizes activities by progress, making it easier to see what needs attention, what is underway, and what has been completed. The work also included activity comments and optional time tracking. Linked family members can participate within the permissions set by the account owner.

The solidarity system was expanded to recognize helpful contributions more flexibly. A contribution can carry more than one kind of reward, and approved compensation can be associated with an earlier deduction or an incomplete daily routine. The original record remains intact, while the additional recognition is recorded separately.

Daily activity management also gained more precise controls. Owners can decide whether a routine applies on a particular day, set default relevance for activities, and record when work took place. Statistics and monthly statements received further refinements, including clearer descriptions of recorded deductions and adjustments.

Communication is another focus. Participants with an approved account connection can leave voluntary feedback, while guardians can review replies and activity-related comments. Optional AI-assisted wording suggestions remain subject to human review before being used. Additional safeguards aim to keep generated wording faithful to the original facts.

Recipes: A More Flexible Way to Create and Refine Meals

The recipe workspace received improvements for people starting with very different kinds of input: a quick meal idea, a list of ingredients, a complete recipe, a public recipe link, or photographs.

The editing experience was refined to make it easier to review suggestions, adjust quantities and preferences, and work with saved drafts. Photo selection and mobile controls also received attention.

Recipe review improvements focused on preserving the cook’s original instructions and making optional side dishes more relevant to the main meal. Clearer progress and error messages were also part of the week’s work.

Job Search: Easier to Read, Easier to Copy

Job Search gained a document-friendly presentation alongside its existing card and table layouts. The new view is designed to make selected listings easier to copy into documents while retaining useful structure and links.

The regular table layout was also made more compact, with view controls placed closer to individual search profiles.

Background listing checks received a more cautious approach to sites that block automated verification. An inaccessible destination should not automatically be treated as a vanished job advertisement.

DNS Management: Clearer Editing and Refresh Feedback

The DNS editor received several usability fixes. Record creation now handles relative and fully qualified hostnames more consistently, reducing confusion about which part of a name the editor supplies automatically.

When adding a record fails, the interface can present more useful, safely filtered feedback instead of a generic failure notice.

Manual refresh behavior was also corrected, with clearer indications when a refresh starts, succeeds, or encounters a problem. Cache handling was adjusted so older data is not mistakenly treated as fresh.

Transcription and Connected Services

The transcription workspace saw improvements to speaker handling, playback-related controls, and the presentation of conversation turns. Work also addressed interrupted uploads, queue visibility, and organizing saved transcripts.

Microsoft To Do integration work focused on connection recovery and more understandable synchronization feedback. These changes aim to make interruptions easier to recognize and recover from.

The Mail Support Assistant gained better notifications for newly received messages, while personal API key management became easier to find within the account profile.

Reliability, Monitoring, and Documentation

Several changes concentrated on keeping ToolsAPI dependable as the collection of services grows.

Storage monitoring and routine maintenance were improved to make capacity problems easier to spot and reduce unnecessary accumulation of old diagnostic data. Deployment checks and clearer on-screen error messages also received attention.

Documentation continued to grow, including a more approachable Tools Score guide and a public API explorer that presents selected interfaces intended for external use.
